RE: THE MICHIANA REUNION I'm thinking something simple... Assuming a radius of 3 hours, that would take care of everyone from Indianapolis to Detroit and Chicago. No one would have to worry about lodging since they could just drive in. Oxbow Park is a nice place along the Elkhart River (thus the name). There are hiking trails, a nature center, and lots of pavilions that can be reserved. If you pick a slow time of year you usually don't even have to reserve one. Admission is only $2 per vehicle and if we plan for about a 12-4pm window it should give everyone lots of travel time without shooting more than a single day. The next question... When? Since the weather can be unpredictable at any time, and good weather means huge crowds, I would probably advise against the months of July and August. The very first Saturday in June (June 2 ) might be hot or it might be cold, but probably won't be very crowded. Any further suggestions? |

Greetings from a freezing cold South Africa! Last night it was 0 degrees celsius in Johannesburg and tonight will be much the same. Sure is strange turning on the heaters to stay warm in Africa. It is great to be able to use the webb page for connections to anyone and everyone who might be familiar from the past. Was in Burkina Faso with Phil Stombaugh and Allan Ballard last week and had a great time diggin' up termite queens and hunting for bats. Had brunch with Ruth Robbins ('83 Mills) and her two totally gorgeous children (Elizabeth and Steven). It was wonderful to see her again. We took lots of pictures but agreed that we both have to be in agreement (when they come out) before sending a copy to the site! Lori, who else lives in Southern California? |

We had a really fun ICA/RCI reunion/pot luck today chez Joe & Mimi (Parelius '71)Romanowski - in a Detroit suburb. 7 ICA alums from 1967-1981 in attendance, with spouses, MANY children, and a couple parents there too!! See who attended under "Petit Poteau"/"Where in the World." I hope to send pictures to the web site soon. Now come on you guys, tell us about your mini-reunions too! Toccoa, L.A. people....you could have a BIG party, I bet. I dare ya to do it!!! You'll have a blast, I guarantee it...... |
